On Saturday May 27th the Scarborough neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario was forever changed.  A group of individuals from Fiskars, along with some from the City of Toronto, Canadian Tire Corporation and the local community began work at 8am and worked throughout the rainy day to install a 128′ x 92′ garden.  What was at the beginning of the day a vacant lot, by the end of the day was a blooming garden bustling with people!  The weather was a bit cold and it rained all day!  This was a little discouraging at the beginning of the day but after an hour or so, it seemed as if no one even noticed that it was raining.  Installed in the garden were raised veggie and herb beds, many trees, perennial beds along with a melon patch.  All and all it was a great day in the garden.  I have posted some pictures from that day here but if you would like to see more images or video of the day visit http://gmedia.fiskars.com/makeovers/toronto/.
